We are glad to announce to you to the opening of applications for the 2015/2016 Chevening Scholarships Programme and inform you that we would welcome applications from within your institution who have the potential to be a future leader. Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations.

The Scholarships offer the opportunity to study for a one-year Master’s degree at any of the UK’s leading universities, and are awarded to outstanding established or emerging leaders across a wide range of fields: including Public Policy/Governance,International Law, Energy/Environment, Human Rights and Journalism.

The programme provides a unique opportunity for leaders of the future to build aglobal network of continuing professional significance and also to establish social, cultural, academic or commercial partnerships with the UK.

Earlier this year the FCO announced a significant increase in the investment it willmake to the global Programme. We are therefore pleased to be able to offer morescholarships across the globe, including in Kenya. In light of this expansion, we areexploring all avenues in-country that could be used to increase awareness of theProgramme and overall application numbers.

Applications for a Chevening Scholarship must be submitted online atwww.chevening.org and the deadline for receipt of applications is 15 November at23.59 GMT. Applications received after this date will not be processed.

Applicants should read the online guidance and demonstrate how they meet theChevening selection criteria before submitting an application. If they have furtherquestions about the programme they can use the contact us function on the websitewww.chevening.org.
