USER EXPERIENCE SUPPORT FOR THE COMMUNITY

Since the beginning of the year, we have redoubled our effort to work with local startups in improving the User Experience of their products. We strongly feel that products that put the user at the center do better, whoever the target may be.

However, as we do this, we realize it is important to explain a few points to our community of startups. So, before you become the next startup coming in for UX support, please read these.

 

USER EXPERIENCE IS WORK!

Ensuring you understand and respond to then needs of your users in a context relevant and pleasant manner is work. It requires a process and is very rarely a quick fix. It is not a single magic bullet. It is real work! Often startups come over and think that a one hour session is all they need and they will ‘’figure out their UX ‘’. No, it is a process that iterates. In fact, it should become a way of life for as long as your product is alive.

WE, YOUR PRODUCT AND USERS REQUIRE COMMITMENT

Last year, we begun the process with some startups who came in for the first consultancy and we figured out the next steps we shall be working on together to make sure their product indeed moved to the next level. This seemed like work to them  I guess and they didn’t follow through.

Well, its their loss. However, this was unfair to other startups who we could have worked with in that time. This year, we shall only focus on those who show commitment in the process. Your product deserves it and more importantly, your users deserve it, so show them the respect they deserve by committing to them. As the old adage goes, actions speak louder than words ;-)
