Call for applications: Android Deep Dive training with Intel

m:lab East Africa in partnership with Intel will conduct a five weeks android deep dive training from 17th Feb - 29th March 2014. The training will cover advanced concepts on Android including NDK (NDK is a toolset that allows you to implement parts of your app using native-code languages such as C and C++). The course will also include user experience (UX) concepts covered by iHub UX lab. Entrepreneurship concepts will also be covered. After the initial class contact hours, trainers will offer coaching and support for attendees to complete and publish applications as they advance their entrepreneurial efforts.

A class of 25 students will be admitted to the evening course to be conducted mostly at Emobilis' westlands Campus. Another class of 25 students will be admitted to take the full time course at the m:lab's Bishop Magua Centre premises.

To be selected applicants should have proven experience in Android or J2ME.

Having published in an app store will be an added advantage and experience programming in C/C++ will be added advantages.

Developers enrolled in the training will be expected to develop at least one android application to be published in a global application store such as Samsung Apps store or Google Play store.

Participants pay a commitment fee of Kshs 3,000. In both categories, Kshs 2,000 of the commitment fees will be refunded upon completion of course milestones.
