Rethink Relief is an intense two-week hands-on design workshop dedicated to creating technologies for humanitarian relief that specifically address the gap between short-term relief and long-term sustainable development. This year's Rethink Relief will be hosted in Pader, Uganda onMay 25-June 7, 2014and is being organized by a diverse group of organizers from all over the globe and a variety of disciplines. International Development Design Summit - IDDS 2014

The International Development Design Summit is an intense, month-long hands-on design experience that brings together people from all over the world to co-create technologies and enterprises that improve the lives of people living in poverty. This year's IDDS will be hosted by a group of Tanzanian organizers in Arusha, Tanzania fromJuly 7-August 9, 2014. Participant applications are now open (http://iddsummit.org/apply

Both summits are programs of the International Development Innovation Network (IDIN), a consortium comprising MIT, Olin College of Engineering, Colorado State University, University California in Davis, KNUST in Ghana, USP in Brazil, and NTBC in Zambia. IDIN is funded through USAID's Higher Education Solutions Network (HESN) that supports leading universities to catalyze the development and application of innovative science, technology, and engineering approaches and tools to solve some of the world's most challenging development problems.
