Call for applicants - Android Deep Dive Training with Intel and the m:laB

m:lab East Africa with support from intel will be conducting a one week intense “deep-dive” training on developing apps for android on 17th - 22nd June. The target audience is individuals with appreciation of relational database concepts eg. MySQL,  object oriented programming, basic HTML scripting, and  programming experience in either PHP or J2ME. Basic level knowledge of developing for the android platform is an added advantage for applicants.

While the training will mostly deep-dive on Android - beyond the basics, a minimum of five hours will be spent building participants’ capacity on mobile entrepreneurship. This is inline with Intel and the m:lab’s goal of nurturing mobile entrepreneurs. The course will also include a component on Intel specific concepts that will assist participants to better leverage its emerging platforms for mobile entrepreneurs.

The training class room sessions will be from 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday for one week. This will be followed up by technical coaching and mentorship hours for each participant to enable them to produce high quality apps that pass quality control tests of Intel. Developers undergoing the training will be supported to develop apps that address Intel’s “Star Me” themes.
