On Thursday 29th November 2012 we will be hosting Facebook's Nicola D'Elia to discuss the social network's strategy in emerging markets and how local developers can get involved. The event will feature presentations from the Facebook team both in person and virtually, as well as showcases of integrations by local developers.

About Nicola D'Elia
Nicola joined Facebook in January 2012. Based in London, he looks after Facebook growth strategy and mobile partnership for Africa. Prior to joining Facebook, Nicola worked for the GSMA Development Fund. Based in Uganda, he managed the rural connectivity and Green Power for Mobile initiatives. Nicola also worked for Accenture within the Communication and High Technology division in Italy and Germany. While with Accenture, Nicola spent a year in Namibia working with the Ministry of Education on a business partnership with Voluntary Service Overseas. Nicola also worked with a non-profit humanitarian organisation in the Middle-East providing assistance to Iraqi IDPs.
Nicola holds a MSc in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Pisa and earned an MBA with distinction at Cambridge Judge Business School, where he was a Sainsbury Scholar.
